Installation
What TrueSign does by itself at installation, and what is left for you โ with the reason behind every manual step.
TrueSign setup
All configuration happens in the TrueSign app โ TrueSign Setup โ eSignature โ Settings โ no deployment, no code change.
User management
Who can send, approve, generate, configure. The model fits in one sentence: one role, plus options.
The TrueSign app (tabs)
After installation, the TrueSign application appears in the App Launcher. It gathers everything that does not live on a record page: configuration, templates, and the three operational views.
Signature providers (Yousign / weSign)
TrueSign can get documents signed by two engines โ and the choice can be made org-wide, per template, or even per send.
Create a template
An Envelope Template captures the whole configuration of a typical send โ documents, signers, merge fields, options โ so users send in two clicks, without configuration mistakes.
Options reference
Every option of a sending template (eSignature) and of a Gen template, grouped by editor tab. For the step-by-step, see Create a template and TrueSign Gen.
Merge fields
TrueSign links Salesforce and the signed document in two opposite directions, at two different moments. Confusing them is the number-one source of misunderstanding.
Conditional logic
Conditional logic makes the document smart: fields show up, become required or exclude each other depending on what the signer enters. The canonical example is the W-9-style tax form, where the chosen classification drives which fields must be filled.
Field placement
Four ways to place signature zones and form fields on the document, from the most visual to the most automatic.
TrueSign Connect (Writeback)
Writeback brings back into Salesforce what the signer entered in the document: tax classification, purchase order number, consent, IBANโฆ The data collected at signing time lands straight in your fields, with no re-entry.
TrueSign Gen
TrueSign Gen builds the document before getting it signed: a template containing tags is merged with Salesforce data, converted to PDF, then โ optionally โ sent for signature. All in one click.
Signing groups (admin)
A signing group lets you send to a team: the first member who signs validates for the group. This page covers group management; sending-side usage is described in the user guide.
Approval workflow
Get a document validated before it goes out for signature โ internally, on the recipient side, or both. TrueSign stacks three stages, combinable on a single request:
Custom buttons
Custom buttons trigger a TrueSign send directly from a record page โ with or without a template, on any standard or custom object.
Jobs & synchronization
TrueSign processes in the background anything that exceeds a single Salesforce transaction: bulk sends, webhook processing, purges. Every asynchronous operation is traced โ nothing fails silently.
Logs & audit
Two distinct journals, two purposes: technical logs to diagnose, the audit trail to prove.
Kill switch
The kill switch cuts the Yousign integration immediately and without deployment โ the governance move to know before you need it.
