Signing groups

A signing group lets you send a request to a team rather than a person: every member receives the invitation, and the first one who signs validates for the whole group.

Typical use case: "this contract must be signed by any legal officer of the customer".

Use a group in a send

  1. In the sending form, click Add from group.
  2. Select the group in the list (only active groups appear).
  3. Click Add group: active members are resolved at send time, and each becomes a recipient of the invitation.

After one member signs:

  • the request progresses as if the group had signed;
  • the other members are automatically informed;
  • tracking keeps the group name and the identity of the member who signed.

Example

A contract is sent to the "Acme Legal Officers" group (3 members). The first who signs validates for the group; the other two receive an information notification. The audit trail records exactly who signed.

warning

A group must have at least one active member at send time — otherwise the send is blocked with an explicit message.

Creating and managing groups (members, activation) is an administrator task: see Signing groups (admin).
